reef dam Project
Overview
The Reef Dam Project consists of granted 100% owned E 27/618 (13 subblocks) and E 27/729 (12 subblocks) application. E 27/618 is granted in 2025 with a 5-year term.
E 27/618 is located approximately 55 km east of Kalgoorlie, with numerous gold and nickel mineral occurrences (e.g., Transfind – Trojan historic pits, Mt Juglah workings, Reef Tank and Queen Lapage occurrences). E 27/729 is 40 km NE of Kalgoorlie, and 20 km north of the Bulong production centre (Boundary – Myhree). Surrounding deposits include Pennys Find, Garibaldi and Rainbow.
E 27/618 is situated on the eastern limb of the regional NNW-trending Bulong Anticline, also known as the Yindarlgooda Dome. The licence straddles the contact zone between a lower felsic to intermediate volcanic sequence (west) and upper mafic volcanic sequence (east) and minor clastic sediments along the contact.
Past exploration activities of E 27/618 are limited to local auger soil sampling and BLEG soil, and one line of aircore drilling in the north. Westrock believes the area is prospective for both mesothermal lode gold and Trojan-style granite-hosted gold mineralisation.
Exploration Program
As E 27/618 is largely under thin residual regolith cover with minor local outcrop areas, traditional exploration techniques are likely to be effective.
- Review historic exploration reports and compile all historic data.
- Field recce and auger soil sampling for complete coverage, initially at 400 x 100m.
- Conduct infill soil sampling and/or ground geophysics to delineate drilling targets.
- Carry out RAB and RC drilling to test drilling targets.
